The ending of Casino Royale famously reveals that Vesper had betrayed Bond, using her role in the mission to steal the money for Mr White to save another man she loved. Realizing that he hadn't just been double-crossed, but by the woman he loved, 007 headed out to try and bring her in, only to find her with White's men. When he kills the bad guys, however, he's unable to rescue Vesper from an elevator trapped and sinking in water. Instead, all he can do is watch as his last tether to his more human side drowns before him. Our first stop off point was reached about two hours after we crossed the border (there being no motorways or freeways in this part of the world) was the tiny but ancient village of Perast. The buildings were all made of stone with palms along the roadside but what really made this area like nowhere else on Earth was that of the Bay of Kotor. As you can see from the map above, it is a long route around the coast but the map doesn’t give any idea of how beautiful it is and the bay was filmed in Casino Royale for just that reason.
